Our Story...
Paul and I are coming up on our 3 year wedding anniversary in April and it has been quite an adventure! It wasn't too long after we met that we decided to take our shared interests on the road.. a love of cooking, outdoor music festivals and time spent with family. It just made sense to have a family-run food truck LOL! Sandy brought a background in sales and some time in the food industry to the venture, Paul is a magician with the meat seasonings and Kyra's experience at Tropical Smoothie was invaluable. It just feels right to be in the (mobile) kitchen together! While attending events, we realized there were many great food trucks in our area featuring delicious fried chicken, mexican and asian delicacies, BBQ, and comfort food, but not as many gourmet sandwich offerings. So we decided to take our paninis on the road (Sandy's specialty while in culinary school). The decision to name the business "Houdini's Paninis" was an easy one. In addition to Appleton's rich history with Harry Houdini, one of our rescues is "Houdini". He is every bit the escape artist that Harry was and we just had to put his cute face on the food trailer! I believe our mascots have adjusted to the chaos that came with our first year as food truckers. And what an incredible year it was! So many events and opportunities to learn and meet new people! And now here we are, heading into our 2nd year, with many events already on the books. And we're excited to be building our own kitchen to better manage the volume and become even more efficient. We invite you to share in our adventure and look forward to seeing you!
